Cron Alerts Launches Heartbeat and Schedule Monitoring Service for Production Batch Workloads
A new monitoring service watches the scheduled work that traditional dashboards miss, alarming when a job does not run rather than only when it explicitly fails.
May 5, 2026. Cron Alerts today announced the public launch of its scheduled job monitoring service at cronalerts.com. The service is built for engineering and platform teams whose batch pipelines, scheduled jobs, and recurring tasks form a meaningful part of their production surface but receive less monitoring attention than their request-driven services.
The Cron Alerts service combines heartbeat monitoring with optional scheduled outcome checks and an audit log designed for compliance review. Heartbeats are emitted by the customer's job on completion and watched by Cron Alerts on a separate schedule, with alarms on absence. Outcome checks run independently and verify that the customer-visible effect of the work happened, catching the silent failures where a job ran successfully and produced no useful work. The audit log retains a structured record of every run with its configuration, duration, and result.
"Most production monitoring is built around things that happen," a Cron Alerts representative said. "A scheduled job that simply does not run produces no signal, which is exactly the failure mode that becomes a customer-facing problem three days later. We watch for absence, not just for errors."
The service is offered with usage-based pricing tied to the number of monitored jobs and the retention period of the audit log. The integration is intentionally small, with libraries for the common languages and a plain HTTP endpoint for everything else. No agent installation is required.
Cron Alerts is accepting new customers effective immediately, with a particular focus on teams running customer-facing scheduled work in regulated environments where audit trails are required.
